Knee arthritis improved by combined diet and exercise
New Knee Arthritis study shows that a combination of diet and exercise is better than diet or exercise alone for reducing the symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA). Participants in a study out of Wake Forest University who combined diet and exercise reduced knee pain, improved function and improved quality of life compared with the exercise-only group. The study also showed a reduction in inflammatory markers of the combination group compared to the exercise only group. Average weight loss was greater in the diet-only group and the combination group than the exercise-only group.
